VMWP3 - Yakan Pillowcase - White and Blue

This intricately designed weave, called seputangan, is a unique specialty of the Yakans, an indigenous community south of the Philippines. These beautifully hand-woven textiles are traditionally used as a head cloth cover, and the geometric designs are part of their cultural aesthetic and heritage.

Sizes vary due to each set being made by different weavers. Here are approximate measurements:

These cushion covers are wholly Yakan-made, from weaving of the fabric using bamboo backstrap looms to sewing into pillow cases. The choice of colors, the traditional designs and even some of the imperfections due to the handmade nature of production make every piece one of the kind.
